Having a Twin?!

Bored at the library I played with photobooth on my Macbook. I came across the mirror effect. Which got me thinking how things would be if I had a twin. And I concluded it would be one big party. Someone I can share clothes with. Experiment makeup looks on, afterall the results will be the same since we're identical! HA!

But we would probably fight like crazy. I'm a very dominant person and having two dominant me's would not be good for myself or the people around me. (I'm assuming here that if I did have a twin she'd be identical emotionally as well as physically, yeah I know it doesn't happen but this is for imaginary purposes okay!)

So this is what it would look like:

I mean it does have its pro's and con's.

Advantages
  • Someone to share clothes, makeup, etc. with.
  • A constant companion; never feeling lonely
  • Can cover for each other when needed
  • People mistaking you then feeling stupid after
  • Remember those old Mary-Kate and Ashley movies where they would switch and stuff? Well I figured I would do it for like school. And one twin would be dominant in like math and science. And the others in like history & english and we would switch off for tests and stuff. Like talk about saving time when studying! HA!
Disadvantages
  • Sharing of your possessions constantly
  • Parents buy you less things because there are two of you guys
  • Your gifts are cheaper because since there are two they gotta split the money (only I would think of these things)
  • Always having to fight for your own identity. But in a perfect world I'd be the dominant twin and I can tell my other twin what to do so it wouldn't be a problem :D. Yeah I'm crazy and stupid, shutttup.
  • Constantly getting confused for your twin in situations where its important.
  • Sharing of inheritance
  • When its time to buy a car, laptop, or any other pricey investments/stuff you have to get cheaper ones because you always gotta buy two.
  • College tuition!
  • Having to part with your twin at one point or another.
So while having a twin would seem like fun. The excitement would surely fade away after some time (I'm sure). So it's okay that I don't have a twin. And I was alone in my momma's belly. Because I needed all the food I can get (I was a fat baby). So since God knew I probably couldn't handle a twin or neither could my family or friends they gave me SKYE!

Skye is my sister. She just didn't come from my momma. LOL. We've known each other since we were 3 years old. Which is so incredibly long we forget things about each other when we were young. We met at Hama's Dance Studio where we were taking ballet/tap lessons. And we've been friends everyday ever since. Since high school we've seriously become sisters and share everything. Her money is my money vice versa. We share everything and there is nothing I have that isn't hers and nothing that is hers that isn't mine. I love her to death and would do anything for this chick. Yeah, words can't even describe us when were together and if I tried I would totally not be giving you the full and complete picture. We're gonna be famous one day. And maybe then you'll get to know us. HAHA.

Okay time to go to class. Love you! <3

Sick, sick, sick.

So this October/November, I have come to the conclusion that my body hates me. I'd hate me too if I pulled 16 hour days of work, studying, and everything else in between. But seriously that is the life I live and I cannot really change that.
Another contributor to the increase in illnesses is the constant change of weather. At the beginning of October it cooled down to a couple days so I was wearing my UGGs and sweaters again. Then out of nowhere it was heat wave weather and I was in a dress or shorts. And now it's getting chilly again so I must once again pull out those UGGs.

Since the October, I've gotten sick three times. And I think this time around is the king of all sicknesses. Yesterday, after school and mandatory freshman advising I drove back to Glendale to tutor the kids I tutor a couple times a week. While tutoring I started feeling really ill, you know coughing [more than I usually do] and it was more phlegm-ier and feeling like my blood was freezing down to my bones. I went home, ate dinner, took medicine and tried to go to sleep. I ended up spending the whole night tossing and turning and I tried to go to my mom's room to sleep with her but the door was locked. So finally around 5 AM I couldn't take it anymore and started knocking on the door. She finally let me in and I felt a little better. You know that feeling? Like everything is alright because your mommy's going to take care of you? Yeah, that. So she made me eat breakfast and gave me all these medications to take and I was like yeah, okay not even paying attention to them you know because she's a nurse she knows what she's doing. I felt all loopy and stuff, but I finally did get to sleep which was good.

It's about 5 PM now, and I spent most of the day sleeping and a part of the day sending delerious text messages to my friends. I'm slowly recovering and hoping and praying that this is the last of my round of sickness. Because really its thrown off my schedule a lot. I've had to give away shifts to people at work when I really needed them. Make up midterm, tests, and essays. I still have one more to make up. It's just been so difficult. Hopefully, I'll be back 100% by next week.

If there's anything I learned from this whole ordeal its that don't stress your body too much. You can't always do everything you wanna do so you gotta make sacrifices in order to stay healthy. Listen to your body, if you're aching and getting drowsy, take a nap. Don't think you need to take on everything at once.

So that's the end of my little rant about sickness. I shall go get some rest of this stupid cough stops long enough to let me fall asleep. Hope everyone is well and not sick as a dog like me.

Everyday Fall Makeup Tutorial

So I went to the library to study after I got out of class. But I really didn't end up studying. I had this dying urge inside of me to film a tutorial so I just went for it. It was pretty fun because the floor wasn't exactly busy, but there were a few people here. So I had to film sneakily that's why there's no sound :(

Here are some step-by-step pics and the video will be available at the bottom.

First I applied concealer. I do not usually wear foundation during the day because I feel like it is too heavy and I like to have that light feeling on my face. And I only have a few problem areas of discoloration so I don't think full coverage is needed. I use Almay Smart Shade Concealer in Light/Pale. I put some on the back of my hand to warm it up then use my ring finger to apply to problem areas such as under my eyes, chin, and nose. I prefer my finger because it's gentle, makes the application smoother, and FREE!

I set the concealer and the rest of my face with Almay TLC (Truly Lasting Color) powder in Light/Medium. I used a large powder brush from Sonia Kashuk which you can get from Target. I got some on the brush and buffed it on to my skin in circular motions.

Next, I applied an eyeshadow base/primer. This ensures that your color will last throughout the day and makes the colors brighter. I used MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I used my double-sided Essence of Beauty Foundation/Concealer brush from CVS. It's a very cheap but extremely high quality brush. Using the concealer side of the brush I picked up some base and applied over my entire lid and brow bone blending softly. Make sure not to apply too much because then it will make the eyeshadow look cakey and crease.

Using any eyeshadow brush you have let's apply the eyeshadow. This brush is from ULTA it was part of a large set of brushes. I'm using a ULTA eyeshadow quad. I picked up the lightest color (Bone) and applied it to my brow bone under my eyebrows. Then I just flipped that same brush over and applied the color next to it (Truffle) to my lid. I then took another brush, my Essence of Beauty eyeshadow brush and applied the next darkest color (Toast) to above my crease blending it with Bone. This helps create more dimension to your eyes.

Then I took my Studio Tools crease brush from Target and my NYX eyeshadow in Deep Brown. I dipped my brush in the shadow lightly and applied it to my crease concentrating on the out third of my eye.

I then applied MAC Eye Kohl in Smoulder to my waterline and tightline. This accentuates your eyes providing a subtle, sexy, sultry look.

I applied two coats of Maybelline Colossal Volume Express mascara to my upper and lower lashes. I know the rule is that you curl your lashes before you apply mascara, but my eyelashes are super, super straight and when I do that they just uncurl after just a couple minutes. So I apply my mascara and when it is fully dry I curl my lashes for a couple seconds. I think an eyelash curler is the best tool anyone can have in their makeup kit. It really opens up your eyes making you look more awake and making your eyes appear larger. I use Shisheido Eyelash curler.

I then applied MAC Shimmer Blush in Springsheen. I used another Essence of Beauty brush. This is the blushing/contouring one. Using the white side I picked up some blush and applied them to the apples of my cheeks. I then blended upwards towards my hairline for a more natural look.

I then used my ULTA Lipliner Pencil in Rose. I like this pencil, it's double sided with a rosy, pinkier side then a nude side. Very versatile! I lined my lips and filled in the rest with some color. This keeps your lipstick in place and creates a truer color to your lipstick.

Meet my new favorite lipstick of all time, MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup. I searched far and wide for a pinky/nude color I liked and after trying more than 50 different lipsticks at drugstores, ULTA, Sephora, and MAC I finally found it! So I put some of this on my lips! Oh, and it is soooooo moisturizing! Which is a bigger plus!!

The last step is to put on lipgloss. When I did my pageant I got my makeup done at MAC a lot. (That was before I learned how to do better makeup). So I was always purchasing products for MAC. One time I picked up this Dazzleglass in Baby Sparks. And I fell in love! It goes great with ANY pink lipstick or even by itself! The two things I don't like about this product is that it is really sticky (can't wear this on a windy day!) and there isn't much product in it. For $18.00 I expected it to last a little longer.

Hope you guys enjoy this and find it useful!
